      Audio codecs are applicable to the AVI format: MP3, WMA, AC3, AAC. Video codecs are applicable to the AVI format: MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 (A) SP, H.264, VC-1/WMV. Some of the formats that are used by: QuickTime (.MOV), OGG and MP4. AVI format does not support some modern feature MPEG-4 codecs such as B-frames AVI are still popular in the video / audio sharing, because of its high compatibility with existing video editing and playback software.
      Wav. file can contain a multiple data chunks of blocks, if they are contained within the Wave List Chunk ("wavl"). Audio is decoded using the format and compression method specified in the format chunk. All applications that use WAV must be able to read these two blocks, and you can choose to selectively ignore the optional. Uncompressed WAV files are quite large. For storage and transmission of audio data is now frequently used formats that are compressed so the loss is the so small size. Some of them are: MP3, ATRAC, AAC (Ogg) Vorbis and WMA. There are also more efficient lossless codecs such as FLAC, Shorten, Monkey's Audio, ATRAC Advanced Lossless, Apple Lossless, WMA Lossless, TTA and WavPack, but none of them are not yet  standard for mass use. RIFF format specifications, which groups the contents of the file into separate blocks (chunks). Each block contains its own header and byte data, and each file must contain the following two blocks while the others are optional. Format chunk describes the format of audio-recording. Some of the optional blocks are: Wave List Chunk, Silent Chunk, Cue Chunk, Chunk Playlist, Sampler Chunk and Chunk Note.
